The Patch on the Bellarine 2018

House Notes – The Patch on the Bellarine

This garden is supported by the Geelong Sustainability Group.

We have been living here in Clifton Springs for about 14 years. We are on a double block, and we love to cook and preserve the fruit and vegetables that we grow from our patch. We call it The Patch on the Bellarine.

After sustaining an injury at work last year, we decided to use the produce that we grow and to turn it in to a business, by selling our sauces, chutneys and pickles at the weekend markets. It is something we love to do.

We endeavour to inspire people to grow their own food through our Facebook page, The Patch on the Bellarine.

There is nothing more satisfying than to pick something from the tree or garden and just eat it. We are happy to share our knowledge about growing a sustainable garden from composting to growing from heritage seeds.
