Introduction to Permaculture Design (WA)
September 14 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm$125
How do you make a sustainable house a sustainable home? Do you need a recycling bin and worm farm? Kale growing in the garden? Solar panels on the roof and a rain water tank? Or is a sustainable home established through the care, thought and actions of the people who live there?
This one day course will introduce you to the ethics, principles and strategies behind permaculture design. More than just an organic gardening approach, permaculture provides you with the thinking tools needed to understand and support living systems of people and place.
Hosted at Fair Harvest Permaculture in Margaret River, you will have the opportunity to explore their established permaculture systems, bushland and paddocks. While Fair Harvest is a large scale property, the strategies in use are inspirational whether you live in the inner city, suburbs or semi-rural context.
This is a great opportunity to get inspired to design your sustainable home whether you are moving, retrofitting or building new. The ideas presented will give you a great perspective with which to understand and explore the houses open for viewing on Sustainable House Day on Sunday September 15.
This one day course is recommended for individuals, couples and families as well as professionals such as architects or builders wanting a better understanding of permaculture. The content and teaching style is suitable for children and teenagers over 12 years of age.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please bring wet weather gear and appropriate footwear as we will be both in the classroom and walking around the property.
Camping is available at Fair Harvest Permaculture. Please book separately via _YouCamp_.Fhttps://www.fairharvest.com.au
