Troubleshooting on the day

We have changed our processes so you no longer need to log in to the website to see house tours or access our Zoom links. Simply go to sustainablehouseday.com/program and you’ll find everything you are looking for.

All the links are available on sustainablehouseday.com on our homepage and through our program.

If the link says it’s “invalid,” you may need to redownload Zoom. Unfortunately, this is a Zoom bug and beyond our control. Uninstall the program and go to zoom.com/download to reinstall it. If that doesn’t work, you may need to “clean” Zoom. I need your email address to send you a set of instructions.

INSTRUCTIONS:

For WINDOWS:

  1. Please quit out of the Zoom by right-clicking on the Zoom application in your taskbar and selecting Quit Zoom
  2. Download CleanZoom by clicking here.
  3. Run CleanZoom.exe

After doing so we will need to re-install the Zoom application.

  1. Navigate to Zoom’s Download Center and select download for Zoom Client for Meetings.
  2. Run the downloaded installer file and follow the instructions to install.

For Mac:

Please follow the steps outlined here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362983-How-to-uninstall-Zoom-on-a-Mac-

After doing so we will need to re-install the Zoom application.

  1. Navigate to Zoom’s Download Center and select download for Zoom Client for Meetings.
  2. Run the downloaded installer file and follow the instructions to install.

Then type the Webinar ID manually to make sure that it was not mistyped.

FAQ — Sustainable House Day

The event starts at 10 am AEST.

Go to sustainablehouseday.com/program and click on one of the links to join our Zoom rooms.

We have asked people to register to be able to email them in the lead up to the event. On the day, you’re welcome to just join in — but know that we will be able to see your email address through Zoom.

Sustainable House Day has existed for nearly 20 years as an opportunity to view some of Australia’s most unique sustainable homes and gain peer-to-peer knowledge from homeowners and experts. This year, we have gone virtual, with a series of Q&A sessions today hosted on Zoom.

We are hosting six extension sessions in the two weeks after the event which will go deeper into some of the topics we discussed on the day. These are ticketed events. You can see these events and find links to buy tickets at sustainablehouseday.com/extension-sessions

We rely on support from our community to organise events like Sustainable House Day. If you would like to support us, you can do so at sustainablehouseday.com/donate.

You can comment on house profiles on our website if you’d like to interact with homeowners. We can’t guarantee they’ll respond to every question, but they will be monitoring their profiles and responding when they can.

Renew is a national not-for-profit organisation that enables, inspires and advocates for people to live sustainably in their homes and communities. Renew has organised Sustainable House Day for the last several years.
