Biogas house 2017

House Notes – Biogas house

See a home backyard biogas system in action and the inside of a native bee-hive when being split at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.

We cook whenever we can on our outdoor stove connected to the biogas plant that generates fuel from our kitchen waste. Most of the garden is set up from recycled material collected from things thrown away on the kerbside or picked up on Freecycle. We grow food on raised beds and we have a mix of native plants and flowering plants to keep the bees happy. We have four native beehives and native fish in a recycled bathtub.

We also have a Sanden heat pump for hot water needs.
