The overall approach to the home was to utilise as many sustainable products as possible, such as tinted glass to reduce heatloads thereby reducing energy consumption, solar panels on the roof to reduce reliance on the power grid, and the use of LED lighting internally will also reduce running costs.
Glass louvers were installed wherever possible to achieve maximum cross ventilation to reduce reliance on airconditioning. Internal materials have been sourced from suppliers who have certification such as timber from sustainable renewable forests, cabinetwork board with zero formaldehyde emission, tiles from companies with stringent environmental legislation, and stone tops from suppliers with small eco-footprints. All plumbing fixtures and fittings are WELS rated water saving and the most efficient on the market.
Kitchen and laundry equipment comes from manufacturers using energy efficient production practices with lowered emissions, and paint using low voc emission.
