We have always been extremely conscious of our impact on our environment and are dedicated to minimising waste of materials and energy. We began with a 5kW solar system 20 years ago which we upgraded to a new 10kw solar system and 10kW battery last year. We also installed highly efficient electric heat-pump technology for our hot water, heating and cooling as well as upgrading our single glazing to double glazing by replacing and/or retrofitting. However, it was making improvements to draughtproofing and insulation that really improved the comfort of our 100-year-old leaky weatherboard house! And our energy bills? What bills? We make money in summer and spend it in winter leading to a zero balance.
