Originally a 1968 brick block of three flats, the house already had some solar passive features including louvred doors and deep eaves. A renovation in 2017 converted the top flat into an expansive three bedroom house with interconnecting indoor and outdoor spaces making the most of the orientation and sea breeze. 14kW of solar and 20kwh of alpha es batteries runs the house and two flats, and uses amber to trade energy on the national market. 9000L integrated water tanks, solar hot water, native edible garden including endemic bees, wicking beds and frog ponds. Electric Vehicle (MG ES) and bike collection (including a tandom!). We would love to share our home with you to celebrate sustainable house day.
