We have some important updates to share with homeowners interested in opening for Sustainable House Day 2020. As previously announced, Sustainable House Day will be a virtual event this year and homes will open via video tours for our participants. We have created a document to help homeowners make their own video tours for the event, which can be accessed here.

These pre-recorded videos will be launched on September 13, one week prior to Sustainable House Day on September 20. These videos will supplement the usual house profiles on the website, as well as a series of other Sustainable House Day virtual events and live discussions that will be scheduled the week before, and after the main event. On Sustainable House Day participants will have the chance to speak directly homeowners, architects, designers and other sustainable experts via live online tours and Q&A sessions.

The deadline for submissions to open (or re-open) a house or garden for Sustainable House Day this year has been moved to Monday, 20 July. If you’re selected to participate, your video tour will need to be submitted by Monday, 24 August.

Terms and Conditions for opening for SHD this year can be found here. You can apply to open your house for Sustainable House Day here. We look forward to seeing your submissions!
