SICE+WOOD launch the first HIA Green Smart Certified granny flat for NSW, in the city of Penrith. This sustainable build ticks all the right boxes: low environmental impact, economical build and operation, with an exceptional aesthetic design. This project displays how you can successfully incorporate sustainable elements into everyday builds.
Dave Wood, owner of SICE+WOOD says “I’m a bit of a fanatic when it comes to sustainable housing. I take a systematic and scientific approach to design and construction because I want all my builds to be resilient, adaptable and comfortable. Healthy, green, living spaces are what the future looks like and I want to be part of it”.
The team are looking forward to imparting their passion and inspiration on Sustainable House Day, open from 10am to 4pm.
Some of the sustainable features include:-
Clerestory & low-e windows, 2500L rainwater tank to washing machine, toilet & garden, reclaimed decking, front & stacking door, solar photovoltaic panels, hot water heat pump, bulk glasswool batts insulation, low volatile organic compound paints & E1 particle board, concrete slab with recyclable waffle pods, light emitting diode lighting, water efficient taps & toilet suite, energy efficient appliances, low water use plants.
