This multigenerational home to seven occupants aged 16 to 88 is an example of how building a larger house need not be so damaging to the environment. The home is built to the Passive House Standard to ensure comfortable temperatures year round and guaranteed fresh air. Step free access, accessible bathrooms and separate living spaces means the house is suited to its occupants no matter what stage they are in their lives. It uses mostly wood based products in its construction: timber framed walls, Steico wood fibre insulation, Weathertex cladding, spruce triple glazed windows and reclaimed ash timber floors and ceilings.
The house was opened last year while under construction, so if you attended those tours, you might want to see the finished house this year.
