The avoca hay home.

Our home is a Strawbale home constructed on the river flats of Avoca in the heart of the Pyrenees wire region . We worked with our Architect Denis to create a solar passive home to utilise the most of the block . The house features a Strawbale home constructed from sit up panels from the team at huff and puff . The builder chose to wrap the inside of the bales with a new building wrap from pro- clima to help keep with the temperate more on the plastered walls . Our home also feature’s a mud brick garage supplied and laid but the same guy Rory that also rendered the bales . Another feature of our home is a water tank under the front deck of the home as we don’t have town water access and we chose to put it under the deck so we had more garden space. The only gas connection in the house is for the cooktop, as the client, a former chef, prefers cooking with gas over induction. This is supplied by a single gas bottle dedicated solely to the cooktop.
