House Notes – A Biophilic Unit

Our focus was to design a house with no gas bills, minimal power bills, an abundance of direct sunlight and good cross-ventilation. We were otherwise interested in creating a biophilic indoor-outdoor space by using recycled bricks internally (which add to the insulated thermal mass), slate tiles, timber lining to walls and ceilings – as well as provide many locations for a variety of indoor plants.
