The house is up for sale for $465,000. It is an 8.1 Star-rated passive solar home with views of Bass Strait, purpose-designed for energy efficiency. With a 5.5kW grid-connected solar power system, we haven’t paid a power bill since we connected to Aurora Energy. We also have heat pump hot water. All of the living areas are on the northern side. We have used a combination of concrete insulated forms, timber frame, insulated slab edges and magnesium oxide panels, then 75mm rendered foam.
