This house was owner built commencing 2000. It is orientated with its long axis east west with extensive northern glazing, nil western glazing and minimal southern glazing. It features a 1.5 kw pv system making this house a net exporter of power to the grid. The ceiling is double insulated and heating is never required.

The house is also self sufficient in water and sewerage disposal.

It is situated on a bush block (1.5 Hectares) designated ‘Land for wildlife’.

The eastern aspect can accommodate the prevailing nw to sw breezes that flow through the house.

Cold westerlies are excluded by the house design and topography.

The house features wide eaves to exclude summer sun, fire retardant exterior lining (no painting required) and windows which can remain open during storms, due to their location.

The house also features internal window both above doors to accommodate breezes and to distribute light to darker areas of the house.
