Likely the most sustainable smaller community housing project in Australia. Placed in the middle of the town of Denmark,  a Common House on 5000m2 with 12 home units to be strata titled, are being built by AK Homes http://akhomes.com.au/ and the future residents with no profit margin. It is 60% built and most sustainability features are obvious to see.

Decohousing Denmark was designed by H+H Albany http://www.hharchitects.com.au/, have a NatHERS rating of 8.5 predicted to rise to 9.1 upon completion, they are constructed of Hempcrete with double glazed windows, Gyprock roofs with skylights, R6 bats and Anticon insulation.

Awnings, large rainwater tanks, as well as; greywater systems, stormwater management and drip irrigation systems make the most of water to sustain the permaculture gardens, orchards, green walls,  native water wise plants and edible gardens.

The gardens are home to chickens and bee keeping.
