ECHO.1 2025

ECHO.1

C Street Projects is committed to improving the quality of buildings with international best practice and innovates approaches that pair architectural design with excellent performance. We have spent the last five years developing a method and design approach to scale certified Passivhaus projects suited for the unique challenges of Australian conditions. ECHO.1 is the first Build-to-Sell project in the country that offers turnkey Passivhaus certification, overcoming numerous challenges along the way. It is now complete.
These 3-bedroom homes are continuously ventilated with fresh, filtered air, significantly reducing allergens and pollutants in the home. They are designed to maintain a comfortable 20-25°C in all seasons, using 70% less energy than a typical Victorian home and are incredibly quiet, thanks to triple glazed windows, straw panel insulation and intelligent airtight membranes. Additionally, they have EV chargers, PV solar and battery storage, operating as net zero energy buildings for the ultimate sustainable lifestyle.
ECHO.1 homes are designed to require ~5000kWh/yr, compared to an average Victoria home that uses 19,000kWh of electricty and gas annually (2020 Frontier Economics study for the AER). With projected solar generation of >5500kWh/yr and battery storage, these homes effectively operate as NZEBs.
