Solar + Battery + Electric car 2021

Solar + Battery + Electric car

We live in a mudbrick house on just over an acre of land. Our aim is to live as sustainably as possible. Part of that is to be reasonably self-sufficient in food and we have large veggie path, substantial orchard and sizeable water tanks. Another part is to use as little non-sustainable energy as possible and we have a large, battery-based solar system which means that we don’t use any electricity from the grid for much of the year. We also have an electric car (Hyundai Kona) which we can plug in and which utilises our surplus solar generation.
