House of residence: owner built started in March 2008 finished in October 2010. The house is oriented towards the north for maximum light and warmth during the cooler months.

All floors, walls and ceilings are insulated. All windows are double glazed. Wooden floor in living area is sealed with a natural wax made from wood oils. Carpet is 100% wool. Kitchen bench is bamboo. Recycled wood is used where practical and affordable. Fencing is sourced from local Cyprus timber with recycling of tin and other recycled timbers. Deck roof is angled to allow winter sun to enter house and keeping the summer sun out. Solar panels generate more power than is used.

Solar hot water system with gas boosted. Wood heater with oven which is used during the winter months for heating and cooking. All water usage is gathered from roof with 100,000 litre storage. Toilet is a flush composting toilet with waste water going to small lawn and fruit trees. Grey water system from shower and bath is used on perennial fruiting trees and exotics during the dry months of the year. Garden is Permaculture designed and continues to be implemented. The kitchen is designed for inclusion of family members to enjoy the experience of preparing, cooking and sharing. Majority of furniture is sourced second hand or hand built. Organic mattress and bed linen in the main bedroom.
