North facing orientation of main living area.  Double brick walls with insulation.  Insulation to ceiling and roof space.  Windows that open to allow cross ventilation during summer months.  Shade sails to  reduce summer heat to windows.  Dark floor tiles to main area to increase heat retention during cooler months.  Pelmets  to windows to reduce heat loss around windows, along with thermal lined curtains.
