To have a strawbale house in the snowy mountains was a dream for us the last 20 years. We love the looks and comfort of this build. And we believe everyone should build to look after the environment and it feels so comfortable.
We used as much as possible recycled building material.
Because of the thick straw walls and very good double glazed and triple glazed European windows it keeps the house in summer nice and cool and in winter cozy and warm.
With only 3-4 hours of heating in our wood fire stove (agar) which we also cook our diner on, it’s enough to keep our home cozy and warm.
The other heating of course is the sun, which warms up the house as well.
Very important to us is also our green house and chicken coop and bees.
