This Rammed Earth House is over 20 years old. The thermal properties of this construction and passive solar design help to maintain a comfortable temperature. Other features include; clerestory windows delivering winter sun to an internal earth wall heat bank, north facing double glazed windows and fernery. A wood burning combustion stove for cooking also provides hot water to wall mounted heating panels. Water is collected in rain water tanks. Termimesh provides non chemical protection from termites.
