Blue Eco Homes’ ‘Sapphire’ display home is a Certified Passive House, completed in 2019. The Sapphire Passive House is carbon-zero, relying on building physics, location climate data, and carefully integrated minimal building services and technology. High performance glazing, insulation and an airtight building ensures the home’s internal temperature is constantly kept at a comfortable level ranging from 20 – 25 degrees with minimal reliance on artificial heating or cooling.
A ventilation system brings filtered clean air throughout the entire house so there’s no Co2 build up inside – perfect for people with respiratory issues or those seeking a healthier lifestyle.
It’s also 90 percent more energy efficient, using only 13.3kW per day to run. This includes hot water, heating, cooling, appliances and lighting – greatly reducing the environmental impact.
The Sapphire is the first Certified Passive House in the Blue Mountains, and the first Certified Passive House in Australia to also be built to Bushfire Attack Level Flame Zone (BAL-FZ) regulations, the highest bushfire risk rating.
The Sapphire display home has also received the first Healthy House Australia certification from Buildingbiology Australia.
