Seahorse House 2019

Seahorse House

The world is in danger of over-exploitation by the human species and it will require an effort from everyone to help turn the situation around. I cannot change the world but I can change the way I live.

The house and garden are being continuously modified to make home more sustainable as money and time permits.

We started off as a single story house on a cement slab with ceiling insulation. It is now a double story house with solar panels, which feeds power back into the grid. Heat pumps in use on both floors. Tesla powerwall battery has been added to the system. Roller shutters have also been added to all the windows.

Several water tanks around the house and garage collect water for use on the garden.  Extensive fruit & vegetable garden at back of the house.  Wood fired pizza oven built from recycled material, worm farm and compost bins of various types in constant use.  Front fence built from recycled bottles.  Small glass hothouse used for raising seedlings uses water filled containers for passive heating.

All donations taken on the day will go to Port Sorell Surf Club

Chat to a member of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) about EV’s they will have their Subaru Brumby Conversion on display for SHD
