Shannstainable 2023

House Notes – Shannstainable

A dragonfly etched into a rammed earth wall is just one of the unique features in this beautifully designed passive solar home by Solar Dwellings.

This is a home that is comfortable year round with low energy usage. Good thermal mass & insulation is integral to achieving this goal. This 493m2 home features 5 bedrooms each with a large WIR & desk area, plus activity, study & space for a future lift. Solar electric power generation & rain water harvesting were also important factors for a more sustainable living.

Re-using materials & features from the original house was important, integrating old with new seamlessly into the home.
