Strawbale Cottage

Three strawbale cottages on a 2000m2 subdivision block , incorporating a self-contained pod, a bedroom pod and an artist’s studio. Two of them added since last year’s opening day. An owner-builder project, and still in progress, this build makes full use of sustainable materials (straw) and salvage materials, all situated around an inner courtyard and within a productive and decorative garden. With its own water tank and waste water system, this is a simple, sustainable and a affordable home, that’s cheap to maintain and very pleasant to live in.
