Both homes are 100% recycled since they where both destined to be destroyed. They were moved to Emu Park about forty years ago from Rockhampton. All three buildings are made from lightweight construction, making the buildings easier to transport along with the original windows and the tin roof.
The Queenslander home, designed for cross flow ventilation with wide verandahs to keep the heat away in summer. High ceilings throughout and large windows allow for plenty of natural daylight.
As for the Two Churches many people (including myself) love the idea of churches being converted into homes.
The big feature for the day is the HomeBioGas system. Turning food waste into gas and fertiliser. We also have a native bee friendly garden where we are growing our own vegetables. Our garden uses permaculture principles and composting.
All donations on the day will go to Capricorn Coast Landcare Group
