Valentine: Funky House 2024

Valentine: Funky House

My home was built in the 1950s. I moved in just under 4 years ago and worked doggedly to repair and retrofit this old house to make it more sustainable and more energy efficient. I have installed the following: solar panels, hybrid inverter & battery, hot water heat pump, insulation, shade sails, heat extractor for roof, closed up roof & replaced skylights with solar lighting and done lots and lots of planting and other environmentally friendly things. More recently I enlarged my solar array – it is now just over 7kW – and the team installed a black-out back-up. If there is a black-out I will still have some power to things that need them. I purchased an MG ZS electric car back in December and I am charging it at home – mostly trickle charging but occasionally with my 7kW hub.
