Entrance air locks, heat exchanges and ceiling fans help keep the internal temperature favourable. The structure of the house is a highly durable finish, light exterior to minimise solar absorption and minimal painting required inside. Double glaze windows and insulation is included throughout. LED lighting has been installed throughout. Water efficient appliances for toilets, showers, dishwasher and front loading washing machines have all been used.
The block is home to fruit trees and wicking vegetable beds plus chooks and pets. All household water is recycled, treated and used on the garden. A 45,000L water tank ensures an estimate of 1 year supply of water during drought times. The main garden is planted red gums north of the house and are set back avoid winter shade and western planting to shade the house from the summer sun.
