This home was designed to achieve a very energy-efficient 8 Star NatHERS rating and a Silver level Livable Housing Australia (LHA) rating. Designed and built by Eden Brae Homes, it will be used as a hub and meeting place for the local community, to run community programs and environmental initiatives.

Features include:

  • Comfort Plus glazing to all windows/sliding doors (which have a better U-value than is required), with double-glazed aluminium windows
  • Thermoseal XP Wall Wrap to entire dwelling (external walls)
  • Anticon blanket to roof (aka ‘sarking’)
  • All ceiling insulation has a very high R-value, plus internal and external walls are insulated to a decent R-value also.
