Sustainable House Day 2025 was a true celebration of community-driven climate action—and what an inspiring day it was! On Sunday 4 May, over 160 inspiring homes across Australia opened their doors to share real-life stories of sustainable living in action.

This year over 230 homes were featured with more than 150 available for in-person tours. From passive design to all-electric retrofits, each home told a story of resilience, creativity, and commitment to a sustainable future. We kicked off Sustainable House Day 2025 with a special online Welcome Event on Friday 2 May. It was the perfect way to start the weekend, featuring an inspiring talk by guest speaker Jo Taranto from Good for the Hood. Jo spoke about the ripple effect of sharing real-world solutions and highlighted the power that open home hosts and visitors have to inspire change through lived experience.
Attendees were encouraged to grab a drink, enjoy some nibbles, and settle in as we celebrated community, connection, and climate-positive living.
