Sustainable House Day Returns — Sunday 17 May 2026
Sustainable House Day is back in 2026, and we can’t wait to open the doors again. On Sunday 17 May 2026, households right across Australia will welcome visitors into their homes to share how they’re creating spaces that are comfortable, affordable to run, and climate-ready.
From clever retrofits in suburban streets to off-grid bush homes and everything in between, Sustainable House Day is your chance to see what’s possible — and learn directly from the people who designed, built, or live in these homes. It’s real stories, real solutions, and neighbours inspiring neighbours.
In 2025, more than 160 homes took part and thousands of people joined in-person and online. Next year will be even bigger — with more open homes, local events, webinars, expert advice and community-led ideas to help you take action in your own place.
