We’re inviting you to join SHD 2026 as a Community Partner. With your support, we can showcase local sustainable homes, host community tours, and run aligned events that highlight practical, affordable, and climate-ready solutions for households.
Examples of Community Partner activities:
Hosting a radio or podcast feature — for example, the EarthChat episode in Mitchell Shire that interviewed homeowners about retrofits, passive design and permaculture.
Running an expert panel and presentation, such as RMIT’s “Learning from Research and Policy: Delivering Affordable Retrofit” in Melbourne, which discussed existing-home upgrades with academics and government.
Hosting an electrification workshop, such as the WA “How to spend wisely on your home’s sustainability” session that explored the economics and benefits of Passivhaus and off-grid performance.
Partnering with local organisations to run workshops for renters and homeowners, like the ACT’s “Draught Proofing and Energy Efficiency Workshop” delivered with SEE-Change and tailored for renters.
Facilitating community-level drop-in sessions, for example “Electrify Your Life – Drop in session” in Warrandyte where residents met council staff and learned about all-electric homes and Solar Savers programs.
