Hazeldell is a double brick Federation house built in 1916.
In 2011 a two storey extension was added. The extension consists of kitchen with induction cooktop, family area, small bathroom and upstairs a bedroom and ensuite.
In 2015 8 solar panels were installed, in 2024 gas was cut off and a hot water heat pump installed, in 2025 8 more solar panels and 16Kw battery were installed.
With the instillation of my battery and registration as VPP I have not had an electricity bill.
As my house is double brick heat insulation is excellent. With use of outside canvas blinds and inside curtains the summer room temperatures are usually 23-25degrees. There is no air conditioning, just ceiling fans in the back areas. In winter however the house is quite cold hence winter heating is my next project.
