About this home

This modern Passivhaus on the Sunshine Coast has been carefully designed as a forever home that allows the owners to comfortably age in place while enjoying contemporary architecture and exceptional energy performance.

The design combines clean modern lines with durable, low-maintenance materials to create a home that is both refined and practical for long-term living. A highly insulated building envelope, airtight construction and balanced ventilation system ensure a stable indoor environment with fresh filtered air and minimal energy demand, delivering the comfort and health benefits that define Passive House living.

Central to the planning of the home is the concept of adaptability and accessibility. Step-free transitions, generous circulation spaces and an integrated residential lift connect the two levels, allowing the home to remain functional and comfortable as mobility needs change over time. Key living spaces are positioned on the ground floor, including the kitchen, dining, living areas and study, allowing day-to-day life to occur on a single level while still providing additional accommodation above.

The ground floor opens seamlessly to a covered terrace and garden, encouraging indoor-outdoor living and providing a calm setting for everyday life and entertaining. Practical spaces such as the workshop, garage and boat port reflect the coastal lifestyle of the owners while maintaining the clean architectural language of the home.

Upstairs, private bedrooms and a breakout living space provide flexibility for visiting family and future lifestyle needs. The layout ensures privacy while maintaining strong visual and spatial connections within the home.

Throughout the design, simplicity and longevity guide every decision — from durable finishes and efficient systems to thoughtful spatial planning. The result is a modern Passivhaus that not only performs exceptionally well environmentally, but also supports comfort, independence and wellbeing for the Owners
